• Each year, 3 times as much trash is dumped into the ocean as fish are being caught!
• Refined oil is responsible for polluting the ocean. Oil reaches the ocean from leaking cars and other sources.
• A mouthful of seawater may have millions of bacterial cells, so don't swallow too much!

Sharks!

• Sharks attack about 50-75 people every year worldwide, but even though they seem scary, people are more harmed by elephants, bees, crocodiles, lightning, and other natural disasters.
• We kill about 20-100 million sharks a year through fishing activities, even though 80% of sharks are unable to hurt people!
• The Great White, Tiger, and Bull Sharks have been the most recognized to actually attack.
